GV Trunk Spoiler vs factory trunk spoiler |

I bought this for my '08 that was equipped with the factory optional Appearance Package trunk lid spoiler. While I'm very happy with the GV spoiler, I found that it will not work on a trunk lid that has had the mounting hole for the factory AP trunk spoiler drilled in it. The GV spoiler will not extend far enough to cover the hole that was drilled for the factory trunk lid spoiler. I solved this by swapping trunk lids with a friend who did not have the AP spoiler installed on his car.
Otherwise the GV spoiler is fine, it fits well and was easy to clean up and paint. You must install this when the spoiler and trunk lid are warm since it needs to be formed to the trunk lid and must be flexible when you do this.
I like that this extends down the back of the trunk lid to cover the holes where the Mazda emblem was, this gives the back a nice clean look. The spoiler could be trimmed to match the curve of the bottom edge of the trunk lid if you don't like the straight across look.
