Convenient but fitment not perfect March 27, 2022 Reviewer: Steven from OR United States   This is probably the easiest install for a hood strut kit for the NA. That being said, you will encounter hoot fitment issues after install. Even with the 'low profile' fender screws that are provided your hood will still bulge on one or both of its sides. I removed the fender screw completely and I still have fitment issues. Granted, some of my issues may be due to the aftermarket hood but I know someone with a stock hood who had the same issues. Oh, and shipping is very expensive.  1/3 the cost of the whole product. Was this review helpful to you?

Hood won’t close flush March 21, 2022 Reviewer: Tyler Arthur from Bradenton, FL United States   So I ended up returning this product. The struts themselves work great and do the job they are supposed to do, but no matter how you mount them, your hood will not close flush. It will put extra pressure on the hood latch, and there will be a noticeable gap between your hood and fenders because the hood can’t close flush with the struts in the way. Not a big deal for some, but for me it was ugly, and will cause long term stress on the hood and hood latch, which could eventually bend the aluminum hood. Rspeed was very understanding of this and said I could return the product, so I sent it back. Was this review helpful to you?

Miata dual hood lift kit February 25, 2022 Reviewer: James Bateman from Davie, FL United States   I recently bought this item and installed it on my car and I’m overall pleased with the result. I feel like their struts could be slightly weaker so as not to require unnecessary force on the hood of the car (which is potentially modified which is why you need this item) and the bolts which replace the stock existing ones in the fender could be reduced in size still further. I don’t think that they are contacting the struts however the hood assembly as a whole has lifted up about 1/8-1/4 of an inch since installation. Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent. January 27, 2022 Reviewer: Michael Zeeuw from Glendale, AZ United States   These look great and work perfectly. They even included grease and a Q-tip. It gives the car a better look with the hood open. It did appear to raise one corner of the hood (I didn’t really look at the before) but…a slight tug up on the fender and both sides are perfect. The included instructions are fairly bad. I watched two YouTube videos and put the far end down - really doesn’t matter. Took about 15-20 minutes. I’d get a thin nylon locknut to replace the factory nut. I used the lock washers and not the flat washers on the hood. I don’t care for the multi-fit slotted hood hinge mounting plate, but I can improve it for car shows when we get to that point. This was installed on a 2002 NB. When you get it, the struts will say ‘89 -‘98 and the receipt will say ‘90-05. It fits. Don’t worry. And very smooth operation. No excessive force. I think love them. Was this review helpful to you?

Amazing quality! October 7, 2021 Reviewer: Travis Garry from Edgewater, FL United States   I got these a few weeks ago and installed them very quickly. I had already installed Flyin’ Miata hood lift kit, and after a year they started to get very stiff and were bending my hood hinges! The Rspeed hood struts have such a better design in my opinion, having a bracket that mounts on to the hood hinges vs having to drill and tap the hood hinges. So far so good!!
